Occupational Therapist

Emily R, MOTR/L

While pursuing her undergraduate degree in child psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Emily discovered the field of Occupational Therapy and quickly shifted her career path. She went on to earn her Master of Occupational Therapy from Bay Path University in 2021 through an accelerated program in Massachusetts.

Emily has always been passionate about pediatrics, beginning her OT career as a contractor for the New York City Department of Education, where she provided services to children ages 3–21. Her experience spans a wide range of diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, global developmental delay, retained primitive reflexes, and low muscle tone. Dedicated to professional growth, she has completed trainings in Dynamic Movement Intervention (Level A), introductory sign language, multi-sensory learning techniques, reflex integration, aquatic therapy, and holistic profile development.

Emily enjoys collaborating with other providers, families, and the children she works with. She believes that therapy should be both purposeful and fun by integrating play, creativity, and movement into every session. She values building strong relationships with the children she serves, as well as their families, to promote meaningful progress at home, school, and in the community. Outside of her work, Emily enjoys exploring new hobbies, staying active, and spending time with her family. Her passion for helping children thrive is at the heart of everything she does.
