Ashton earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from West Chester University and went on to receive a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Monmouth University. Ashton holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), is licensed by the State of New Jersey, and certified by the New Jersey Department of Education as a Speech-Language Specialist.
With a diverse range of clinical experiences, Ashton has provided speech and language services to individuals across various age groups and settings, including university clinics, educational environments, and private practice. Her responsibilities have included screening and evaluating children to determine appropriate services, collaborating with families and related service professionals, and tailoring treatment to each child’s strengths and needs. She has experience addressing receptive and expressive language delays/disorders, pragmatic language disorders, articulation and myofunctional disorders, fluency disorders, and implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Additionally, Ashton is passionate about working with children with autism spectrum disorder, including those developing language through gestalt language processing.
In her free time, Ashton enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her
dachshund, Frankie.
