Silke graduated with high honors from an OT program in Berlin, Germany. She is a relationship- and strength-based Occupational Therapist with over 25 years of experience working with children and collaborating with their caregivers in schools at all levels, private practices, and homes.
Silke is experienced at working with children ranging from age 3 to 17 years who might be neurodivergent and might have a diagnoses of autistic spectrum disorder, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, Downs syndrome, learning differences, developmental delays, or other challenges. She has in-depth experience with several New Jersey school systems, including IEPs (Individual Educational Plans), and has been involved in staff and parent education, providing and overseeing sensory protocols, and home exercise programs.
Silke has completed courses in Autism Spectrum Disorder including DIR/Floortime, Sensory Processing and Integration, ADHD, Primitive Reflex integration, Visual perception, Dyslexia and Dysgraphia, and other topics. She is also very experienced in Zones of Regulations and Handwriting without Tears.
Silke keeps up to date with the latest developments in the occupational therapy profession through continuing education courses and peer learning, and also continually grows her knowledge and experience through learning with and from children and their families.
In addition to her work as an OT, Silke enjoys reading, crafting, swimming, riding her bicycle, being in nature, playing music, and spending time with her family and friends.
